I thought Apple’s vision here was interesting. I don’t think anything short of luxury cars will have anything like it anytime soon.
But I do think CarPlay is a solid selling point for cars that is quickly becoming table stakes. Also it makes sense for manufacturers to lean on Apple here. No cars are known for their quality digital user interface. Why waste money on that when apple can do it for you and better?
But I’m also wary of a future with too many screens in cars. I’ve long maintained buttons and knobs are much better and safer. As a company that it’s constantly marketing itself add protecting its users, where will Apple land on that if they’re given more input.
